Mr. Pursch to advance talent strategy, organizational effectiveness, and employee experience across the firm

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, architecture, consulting, and digital solutions, today announced that Brian Pursch, SHRM-SCP, has been named VP, Human Resources Business Partner Lead. In this role, Mr. Pursch will provide strategic human resources leadership across the firm, aligning talent, workforce, and people strategies with Michael Baker’s business priorities to support organizational performance and long-term growth. He will work closely with senior leaders to advance organizational effectiveness, guide change initiatives, and leverage data-driven insights and best practices to strengthen employee engagement and business results. Mr. Pursch will also lead Michael Baker’s team of Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs), driving talent strategy, workforce effectiveness, and organizational performance across the enterprise. He will oversee key initiatives related to talent management, career development, leadership growth, succession planning, and performance excellence, driving a consistent and high-impact approach to developing and retaining talent.

Mr. Pursch is an Executive HR leader with nearly 25 years of experience leading people strategy for architecture, engineering, technology, manufacturing, and energy organizations. He joins Michael Baker from PBK, the nation’s leading K-12 architecture and engineering firm, where he served as Chief People Officer and led all HR functions. Mr. Pursch has also held senior HR leadership roles with Kongsberg Maritime, EthosEnergy, and Wood Group, and supported domestic and international operations at Baker Hughes earlier in his career.

Mr. Pursch holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management, and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from Texas A&M University. He is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).
