The strongest evidence was associated with certain anti-nausea applications, while evidence involving inflammatory, metabolic and other endpoints ranged from very low to moderate certainty depending on the outcome.
These findings establish ginger as a botanical with meaningful human research behind it. They do not, however, establish that ginger root extract in Breathizen improves lung capacity, increases oxygen levels, removes toxins from the lungs or treats respiratory inflammation.
Those would represent a substantially different set of claims requiring appropriate product-specific substantiation. For general wellness discussions, ginger is better understood as a widely consumed botanical containing compounds such as gingerols and shogaols that have attracted significant scientific study.
That evidence can provide legitimate context for why ginger remains a common ingredient in modern botanical formulations without transforming Breathizen into a treatment for a respiratory condition.

Bromelain: A Pineapple-Derived Proteolytic Enzyme
Bromelain is another ingredient included in Breathizen. The term refers to a group of proteolytic enzymes obtained primarily from pineapple, or Ananas comosus. Proteolytic enzymes participate in the breakdown of proteins into smaller components.
Research literature surrounding bromelain has investigated its biochemical properties and potential effects in several areas of human health. Reviews describe bromelain as a complex enzyme preparation and discuss research involving inflammatory processes, digestion and other physiological pathways.

Research involving physical performance should not be converted into a statement that Breathizen increases lung capacity, improves cellular oxygenation or produces greater respiratory endurance. Those are specific product-outcome claims that would require evidence directly supporting them. Instead, the inclusion of Cordyceps militaris can be discussed as part of an emerging area of nutritional and botanical research.
The existing research provides scientific context for interest in the ingredient while leaving substantial room for additional well-controlled human studies.
Why Ingredient Research Is Different From Finished-Product Evidence
